Culture of microbes living in endemic and other plant systems and investigation of the enzymes and other products released by them

With evolution of multi drug-resistant pathogenic bacteria, there is a need for novel drugs for diseases control. Here, though initially the screening of products obtained from combinatorial synthesis appeared to be a very promising avenue, it has so far not been successful. Therefore, natural products are being searched again for discovering novel drugs. Among the different types of organisms which are being targeted to be screened for novel drug production, we will culture microbes living in endemic and other plant systems and investigate the enzymes and other products released by them.
